The Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya undertook a visit to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) from 12th to 15th October 2025, at the invitation from the Government of the PRC as the Chief Guest of the the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women 2025, co-organized by the Government of the PRC and the UN Women. The Prime Minister addressing the Global Leaders’ Meeting on Women 2025 on 13 October 2025 in Beijing, China, conveyed to the world leaders that the progress made by Sri Lanka in advancing human rights and well-being of women and girls. The Prime Minister also held a fruitful bilateral discussion with the President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Wang Huning.
