The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Beijing celebrated 2570 Buddha Jayanthi Vesak commemorating the birth, enlightenment, and Parinirvana of Lord Buddha.
Most Venerable Zong Zhi, Deputy Incumbent of the Lingguang Temple in Beijing conducted the religious ceremony at the Embassy premises followed by an alms giving.
To create an authentic Vesak atmosphere, the Embassy premises were decorated with a traditional Vesak thorana (Pandol), Vesak lanterns and Buddhist flags.
The celebration also featured a traditional Sri Lankan Dansala, where the Chinese community and fellow Sri Lankans enjoyed premium Ceylon iced tea and Sri Lankan savories symbolizing generosity and community spirit.
